To visit Buhugu:

From Kampala, head east to Mbale by bus, taxi (public transportation) or private transportation. The journey can range from four to seven hours depending on road construction work along the way.

In Mbale, on Kumi road (near the clock tower), catch a taxi or a special hire (private transportation) to Mutufu Trading Center. The journey should be under an hour, on mostly paved roads. (Along the way, you'll pass through Sironko town, which is the main commercial town of the district.)

From Mutufu head down the road towards the Buhugu Sub-County Headquarters (ask someone), and in minutes you are in the heart of Buhugu!
